About Alonso Vidal
Alonso Vidal is a Peruvian multimedia journalist, documentalist, writer, and photographer who focuses on immigration, cultural identity, housing, and social justice, often spotlighting underrepresented communities.
Currently, he is a Toni Stabile fellow at the Toni Stabile Center for Investigative Journalism at Columbia University, where he also completes his master's degree.
Alonso is a former Northwestern Medill Local News Accelerator fellow, a City Bureau Civic Reporting fellow, and a UIUC SDOH & Place Fellow.
His work has been featured in City Bureau NBC, Telemundo, La DePaulia, South Side Weekly, and Illinois Latino News.
He is also a DePaul University alumnus, where he graduated with a BFA in Film and Television with a Screenwriting concentration.
